You end up in some places due to sheer serendipity, and that's how I stumbled upon Kondapochamma Sagar Reservoir that offers a breathtaking view and is located only 50 kms from the city of pearls - Hyderabad.

A clear blue sky filled with fluffy clouds and the blue waters all around is sure to leave you impressed and your tired soul revived. Being close to the city, this is also an ideal destination for motorcyclists, who are constantly on the lookout for new destinations nearby since long travel now seems to be a distant dream.
The place is really well maintained with lush green farmlands on the lower side and blue waters on the other side thus making is a picturesque location right out of some painting.
You can take your car or motorcycle all the way to the top and you can drive / ride around the periphery of the reservoir - the experience is simply beautiful. The place does not have any cafe or restaurants nearby and that is in fact a blessing in disguise as it keeps the place sparkling clean.
This reservoir is also part of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme and was inaugurated in May 2020 by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. This 15.8 km long reservoir has a capacity of 15 TMC and can provide irrigation to more than 2 Lakh acres of ayacuts through 13 canals.
Sunsets are mesmerizing here, so if you are one of those who love to chase sunsets, plan your visit towards the later part of the day and get ready to sink in with the sun.
